Last December my little sister got married, which of course made me her go-to for all things wedding.
I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. I definitely didn't miss the stress from planning a wedding, but it was so much fun to plan the details again!
January came and it was cold and dark and I was itching to have some color in my life. After seeing multiple blogs with "styled shoot" ideas, I thought I would get my creative juices flowing again. I didn't want weddings to become a mundane job where I just showed up with my camera, I wanted to revive my passion for them, so I began to dream up my own styled shoot.
A styled shoot is exactly what the name implies, a photo session that is styled. A group of vendors that collaborate to create a concept or theme to showcase their business and talent. I had been falling in love with the soft pinks and peach color trends and decided I start there. Soon followed a Pinterest board and I asked Becky from Event Crush to be my go-to gal. Brides, if you haven't already hired a wedding coordinator for your big day call Becky NOW! She was so great to work with and understood my vision for this shoot. Becky contacted all the right vendors and helped the shoot come together beautifully.
I was so thankful to be able to work with the Ogren family who owns Ogren Gardens, which is the venue where the shoot took place. They own an awesome piece of property with a cute barn! Who doesn't love a barn wedding :)
All the beautiful florals were done by Joana and Taylor at Good Seed Floral Design. They still have openings for 2013 weddings if you need any assistance. The big items we used, such as tables and chairs, as well as decorative items were "borrowed" from Something Borrowed PDX.
Thank you Sweet Life for providing a cake! If you haven't been to Sweet Life in downtown Eugene, shame on you. Go now and try some of their delicious desserts.
A huge thank you to Carrie Gallic, our make-up artist, and Ivy, our hair stylist, from Mujeres Salon.
Lastly, a big thank you to our sweet, sweet couple. You guys were great! Thank you for being willing to be a part of this.
I still can't believe that we made this gorgeous shoot happen! Thank you to all the vendors that were involved and contributed their talents. I now feel creatively refreshed and ready for wedding season to begin!
