McCoy Family. Oregon Family Photographer

February 27, 2012

Time for some new and refreshing pictures!
The weather has made me have cabin fever!!! The snow, rain and sunshine are mixing with my emotions.
I really hope Spring comes soon and with that the sunshine, otherwise I might go crazy!
Plus I got an early (really early) birthday present from Adam and it will be coming in the mail this Friday! I'm excited to take pictures this weekend! I have a few people lined up :)
Last week I started with my Living Social folks and photographed the first family that purchased the deal.
They were completely adorable and super easy to get along with/photograph. We also lucked out with having the only sunny day that week!
A little short this week, but I do hope you enjoy the photos!
Happy Monday!

Kent and Kayla and Young Life. Eugene, Oregon Portrait Photographer

February 14, 2012

I just got back from one of the best weekends with my Young Life kids.
Who knew that Young Life would be so prominent in my life today. I sure didn't.
But I have been beyond blessed with this ministry, beyond blessed by God.

I was in 8th grade when I met Joben Jarvis (a young life leader at the time). My friends- Adam, Kris, and Mckenzie- and I were at a park (where no one really went) when we met him. We were a bit creeped out, but Adam had the courage to go up and talk to this stranger, and it turned out to be a huge divine appointment in our lives. Joby had told us about Young Life, and since it was the summer before we became freshmen, he of course invited us to go.
9 years later, here I am, a Young Life leader myself.
After I graduated from high school I told myself that I didn't want to be a loser and come back to high school just barely months after I graduated, BUUUUUT..... I came back.
I'm sure glad I did. It probably was the best thing that could've happened in my life at that moment.
After this last weekend, I feel God is going to do big things in Springfield. Our campaigner kids are going to bring it and club starts next week! Spring is going to be so busy, but oh so worth it.

On another note... it's Valentine's Day!!!
How will you be celebrating this day of Love?? (personally, I think it should be celebrated everyday, with lots of chocolate...)

Speaking of love and since a blog post is more fun with some pretty pictures, I'm excited to share pictures of a cute couple...in love :) Kent and Kayla happily agreed to do a photoshoot with me since I was dying from not taking photos. Thank you, Thank you for being my models!

Enjoy and Happy Day of LOVE!

Living Social: Oregon Family Portrait Photographer

February 7, 2012

The last few days have been so great! The sun has been out, I got a chance to do a couple photo sessions, spend time with Erica and baby Jonathan, SHOP, have a very wonderful talk with my friend Margaret who I met doing workcrew 6 years ago, and I went rollerskating at Skate World with some of my young life ladies. So thankful for my life :)

But, Winter can definitely be a very slow season.
It's cold, wet, and depressing.
It slows down photo sessions too, it's just not pretty.

In the fall I had contacted Living Social about maybe doing a deal and they told me they had enough photographers for that time, and then that was that. I completely forgot about it. Towards the end of January a representative from Living Social contacted me to see if I was still interested in doing the deal, and I very excitedly said yes! I thought it would be a good time since it's so slow these days and I've been dying to do a photoshoot! It started last Monday and went through Sunday. I was expecting maybe 10 people would buy the deal at the most, but 41 people ended up buying the deal!!!! WOW!
I'm a little overwhelmed, but more excited to be able to photograph new families and to challenge myself to make every one unique.
I started this weekend with a very familiar face. My little sister wanted some pictures with her boyfriend Oliver who just left for San Diego for the Marines boot camp, and of course her puppy Duke. The weather was perfect. Isn't she beautiful!? You probably have seen a lot of her. She happily agrees to be a model for me from time to time :) They've been together since high school and Oliver has become a part of the family. We're all excited for him and look forward to his growth in the next three months while he's in San Diego. I'm a little jealous that he gets to stay in the sun! (not so much for the boot camp part). Oliver, we're so proud of you!

I hope you enjoy the photos!
Happy Tuesday!

Coming up next: another lovely couple from this past weekend! Keep a look out for Kent and Kayla!
