Living Social: Oregon Family Portrait Photographer

February 7, 2012

The last few days have been so great! The sun has been out, I got a chance to do a couple photo sessions, spend time with Erica and baby Jonathan, SHOP, have a very wonderful talk with my friend Margaret who I met doing workcrew 6 years ago, and I went rollerskating at Skate World with some of my young life ladies. So thankful for my life :)

But, Winter can definitely be a very slow season.
It's cold, wet, and depressing.
It slows down photo sessions too, it's just not pretty.

In the fall I had contacted Living Social about maybe doing a deal and they told me they had enough photographers for that time, and then that was that. I completely forgot about it. Towards the end of January a representative from Living Social contacted me to see if I was still interested in doing the deal, and I very excitedly said yes! I thought it would be a good time since it's so slow these days and I've been dying to do a photoshoot! It started last Monday and went through Sunday. I was expecting maybe 10 people would buy the deal at the most, but 41 people ended up buying the deal!!!! WOW!
I'm a little overwhelmed, but more excited to be able to photograph new families and to challenge myself to make every one unique.
I started this weekend with a very familiar face. My little sister wanted some pictures with her boyfriend Oliver who just left for San Diego for the Marines boot camp, and of course her puppy Duke. The weather was perfect. Isn't she beautiful!? You probably have seen a lot of her. She happily agrees to be a model for me from time to time :) They've been together since high school and Oliver has become a part of the family. We're all excited for him and look forward to his growth in the next three months while he's in San Diego. I'm a little jealous that he gets to stay in the sun! (not so much for the boot camp part). Oliver, we're so proud of you!

I hope you enjoy the photos!
Happy Tuesday!

Coming up next: another lovely couple from this past weekend! Keep a look out for Kent and Kayla!
